It seemed interesting but since only a few portions of the movie was left, I did not watch it. I googled the movie and found out   that it was adapted from a book by Patrick Ness . That’s how I ended up buying this book. I am so glad I bought it because   While reading this book , I knew it had the potential to be my favourite . And my guess was right. It has indeed   become my new favourite.😍 The story follows a boy Conor   who is dealing with a lot of problems everyday. His mother is suffering from cancer and has been undergoing treatment for years. His father stays abroad and rarely visits him. He has to stay with his difficult and overbearing grandmother. He is also bullied constantly by

BOOK REVIEW - I've Got Your Number by SOPHIE KINSELLA

PUBLICATION YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Chick lit PAGE COUNT: 459 FORMAT: Paperback AVAILABLE   AT : amazon Lately I have been reading a lot of books with dark themes . I needed something light and fluffy to relax my mind. Early this year , I had read this book called “ My Not So Perfect Life “ by Sophie Kinsella and I remember enjoying   it . I wanted to read something like that .   So I went to the internet and searched for the best books by this author   and the book “ I’ve Got Your Number ” popped up. Before writing the review, I have to admit that I am not really a big fan of the chick lit genre. This is surprising because a few years back, I used to only enjoy contemporary romance/drama. I found them relevant and somewhat relatable. But soon my reading taste evolved and now I rarely read this genre of books. Hence,   I had a hard time reviewing it.   I   had a great time reading it though . 😊 The story is told from the perspective of the main character

Book Review - THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins

PUBLICATION YEAR: 2008 GENRE: Dystopian Fiction PAGE COUNT: 374 FORMAT: Paperback AVAILABLE AT : amazon If you happen to search for the top 10 book series to binge read, The Hunger Games trilogy is definitely going to feature in it. It was published way back in 2008 but I think it became popular with the subsequent release of its movies in 2012. Although I had not seen the movies , I knew a thing or two about the story. Luckily there were no major   spoilers   while going into this book. The story is about this girl Katniss who enters into a reality show called “ The Hunger Games” . The format of this game is a bit like “ Survival of the Fittest ” or “ The Last Man Standing ”. Two people – a boy and   a girl from each of the 12 districts of this place called Panem   are selected randomly every year to participate . Contestants are supposed to kill each other in order to win the coveted title. In addition to that, they are devoid of fo

BOOK REVIEW - SHATTER ME by TAHEREH MAFI

PUBLICATION YEAR: 2011 GENRE: Dystopian Romance / Thriller PAGE COUNT: 338 FORMAT: Paperback BUY ONLINE: amazon The synopsis at the back cover of this book goes like this- “ I HAVE A CURSE. I HAVE A GIFT. I’M A MONSTER. I’M MORE THAN HUMAN. MY TOUCH IS LETHAL. MY TOUCH IS POWER. I AM THEIR WEAPON. I WILL FIGHT BACK.” The beautiful front cover (see pic)  and the above synopsis drew me towards this book. The story is set  on a dystopian world and follows a girl named Juliette who happens to suffer from a rare lethal disease where her mere touch can kill people. She has been living in an asylum of sorts until the bad guys from “The Reestablishment” try to use her as a weapon of destruction. There she meets the main villain Warner and her childhood crush Adam . She has to decide whether she wants to use her power for good or for evil. The story is told from Juliette’s perspective. so we get to know about her constant inner struggles
