Stay Home Reading Rush 2020 | Book Tag & TBR

Hope you are doing well with all things considered. With people exercising social distancing and following #stayhome #staysafe , I am guessing all booklovers might be having a blast. I used to always complain - “ So many books , So little time”. Now that I have gotten the opportunity to tackle my TBR pile, I have found myself in one of the worst slumps reading-wise. Last week I quit 2 books as I suddenly started nitpicking on the things that I found boring . Then I picked up a couple books and read its first few chapters and those too didn't pique my interest . I don't know if these books are bad or the fact that I have been reading e-books format which has always proved to be a bad reading experience for me. The reason I am reading e-books is because I can neither go to a bookstore nor can I buy books online as amazon has opened their delivery services only for essential items in our place. I have mentioned this before that e-books give me headaches when I look at them for a long time. So, I have finally decided a way to deal with this situation. The next couple of  books that I have decided to read for the Stay Home Reading Rush 2020 is going to be a mix of two reading formats- e-book and audiobook. Fingers crossed, I get myself out of this slump.

How is your reading going while staying home?

Not going well at all, as mentioned before. I have already DNFed two books and struggling to decide what to read next. Hopefully, this readathon helps.

Where have you been reading at home?

I always read before going to bed . So “ my bed” is where I have been reading .

Best book you’ve read during isolation?

Just before my two DNFs , I read and loved Vicious  by V.E Schwab.

What's your favorite feel good book?

Any book from the Harry Potter series.

Book you wish you could buy or borrow from the library?

I am really looking forward to read Vengeful by V.E Scwab which is the sequel to Vicious. I wish I could buy it somehow.

Author you want to shout out during this time?

This year,I have decided to read more books by Indian authors. I am slowly working my way through some of the Indian books and loving it. So a huge shout out to all Indian authors.

What is you reading rush TBR?

Based on the following reading challenges, I have picked up three books.
READING CHALLENGES
Read a book with a house on the cover- Little Fires Everywhere
Read a book in the same room the whole time-  I read books in the same room and at the same place every day. For this challenge, I will be reading “Thunderhead “ by Neal Shusterman on my bed.
Read a book set somewhere you wish you could go- Its a cliché answer, but Hogwarts is where I would like myself going . I have been re-reading Harry Potter for a while now. I am currently reading Harry potter and the Order of Phoenix. So, I will be continuing reading this one for this challenge.
Read a book that will make you smile- Harry Potter books always fill my heart with warmth and joy. Just looking at these brings a smile to my face.

So, my Stay Home Reading Rush TBR includes-
1.       Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng The story revolves around two families living in a place called Shaker heights, Ohio. This is going to be my second book from this author after “ everything i never told you” which I absolutely loved. There’s also a miniseries starring Reese Witherspoon which I am also planning to watch soon.
2.       Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman- This is a re-read for me . I was planning to read “The Toll “ which is the third book to the Scythe series, but I remember very little about what happened in the second book “ Thunderhead” .
3.       Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix by J.K Rowling- This is going to be yet another re-read for me . I am almost a 100 pages in, and enjoying it.

So, that's my Reading Rush Tag and TBR... How’s your reading going? Are you planning to participate in the Reading Rush? Do share your Tag answers and TBR in the comment section down below...
Happy Reading...!!!!

The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon | BOOK REVIEW

TITLE: The Angel’s Game (Book 2 Of   Cemetery of Forgotten Books series) AUTHOR: Carlos Ruiz Zafon ( Spanish) TRANSLATOR : Lucia Graves PUBLICATION YEAR: 2008 GENRE: Literary Fiction (Mystery, Thriller) PAGE COUNT: 504 FORMAT: Paperback AVAILABLE   AT : amazon   The Shadow of the Wind ( see review here )  by Carlos Ruiz Zafon featured in my favourite books list of last year. I remember buying the next book in the series The Angel’s Game almost immediately after finishing it. I was so impressed by the writing and plot that I had to read all the books from this author- translator duo. Considering this being a part of series called Cemetery of Forgotten Books , I was under the impression that this book was either a prequel or sequel to The Shadow of the Wind . But after reading a few chapters , I realised that although the story was set in Barcelona and features the infamous Cemetery of Forgotten Books (which was also a

RADIO SILENCE by Alice Oseman | Book Review

TITLE: Radio Silence AUTHOR: Alice Oseman PUBLICATION YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Young Adult Contemporary + LGBT Fiction PAGE COUNT: 403 FORMAT: Paperback AVAILABLE   AT : amazon   I came to know about this book through booktube . There was a booktuber who in one of her   videos started crying while talking about it. I was really taken aback by that. It was really heartening to see how a certain book can bring out such overwhelming emotions . I checked out   a few more reviews- all of which were positive   before buying this one. It was unanimously rated as a 5 star book . Obviously my expectations going into this book were super high. The story is about a girl named Frances who is extremely studious . She calls herself a study machine. Other than academics, the only thing she is obsessed with is a YouTube show UNIVERSE CITY /RADIO SILENCE . Her happiness knew no bounds   when one day, the mystery creator   impressed by her fan art   asked her to create some ar

CHENNAI BOOK FAIR 2019 | The Books I Bought

In my New Year Resolution tag ( see here ) , I kinda promised myself to finish my TBR pile before going on my next book shopping spree. As expected I managed to break my resolution even before 2 weeks of setting it. The reason – CHENNAI BOOK FAIR 2019 . I went to the book fair yesterday and bought a couple of books.   I know...   I have absolutely no SELF CONTROL whatsoever. But in my defence, these books were available at really cheap prices . Also , might I add this book fair was the best I have ever been to.   I ended up straining my leg muscles due to all the walking around and checking out each and every stall . By the time I reached my house , I had severe headaches and leg pains – but all of this was totally WORTH IT...!! 😊 Following are the books I bought – 1.        The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga – I heard about this book back when I was preparing for my competitive exams . I was memorising the current affairs and that is when I learnt that this book had won
